Ned Beatty was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 6, 1937. Ned used to sing in gospel and barbershop quartets as a child, as well as at his local church in 1947. He was also given the scholarship to sing in the Capella choir at Translyvania University, but he did not complete his studies.
