Lady Gaga is an American born singer, songwriter and actress. She was born in Manhattan, New York, USA on 28th march of 1986 with birth name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta as first daughter of her father Joe Germanotta and mother Cynthia Germanotta. She attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, however she left it to focus on her musical career. Her debut album, The Fame, was a massive success, and also the single “Poker Face” flat-topped charts in virtually every category.
Gaga was born in Lenox Hill Hospital located at Manhattan, New York to a Roman Catholic family. She was born of Cynthia Louise, a philanthropist/business executive, and Joseph Germanotta, an Internet entrepreneur. She has been in love with music since her early days and her parents supported through out her life. Gaga was very eccentric girl, with provocative appearance in her younger days, which she considered herself as misfit and was constantly mocked for it.
Born from religious catholic family, Lady Gaga joined the Convent of the Sacred Heart, private all-girls Roman Catholic school at age of 11. Gaga was able to sing and play from her young age and performed at open mic nights by the age of 14. She also participated on various dramas and studied method acting at Lee Strasberg Theatre and film institute for ten years. By the age of 17 she got early admission to New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where along with improving her songwriting skills, she wrote essays and analytical papers on various topics but withdrew soon after in order to concentrate on her musical career, during second semester of her sophomore year in 2005.
In 2006, Lady Gaga was signed by Def Jam Records, but she was dropped from the label after just three months. This made her increasingly experimental and performed on her own in clubs and venues on her hometown. There, she also collaborated to form rock band with her local friends.
Along that time Gaga met performance artist Lady Starlight, after a performance at Lollapalooza Festival and in 2007 she was signed by Vince Herbert, who she considers as man who discovered her, to Streamline Records, an imprint of Interscope Records. Gaga then hit a music publishing deal with Sony/ATV. Resulting in her being hired to write songs for various artists. At Interscope, singer-songwriter Akon recognized her singing capabilities when she sang a reference vocal for one of his tracks, Akon then influenced Interscope-Geffen-A&M Chairman and CEO Jimmy Iovine to form a joint contract and have her sign with his personal label Kon Live.
Gaga released her first album ‘The Fame’ in 2008 to lukewarm radio play. Gaga toured all over Europe and in gay clubs in the US to promote her album – still it was not until her first hit ‘Just Dance’ came to mainstream attention in 2009 that Gaga burst onto the music scene. Second single off The Fame, “Poker Face,” gave Gaga even more success as it topped singles charts in almost every category and country. Eventually she also released ‘The Fame Monster’ followed by ‘Born This Way’ in 2011 and her third studio album ‘Artpop’.
Gaga also had dream of acting since young which became real when she starred in American Horror Story: Hotel, a TV show running from October 2015 to January 2016 which gave her Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film durong 73rd Golden Globe awards.
